The Best of Etsy — 11 March 2009

This gorgeous ring is by Andes Cruz.  I’m absolutely in love with the whole store. Go look!

I feel like a 4 year old in the backseat of the car on a very long road trip, “Is it spring yet? Is it spring yet? Is it? How about now?”

No, we are not there yet. But we’re inching closer. Daylight Savings ambushed us this weekend, light is more abundant, and there is a bright orb in the sky  that seems vaguely familiar. It’s not spring yet, but we’re on our way.

I’ve been giving a great deal of thought to my pocket book as of late. The news has a way of making you think and rethink every purchase. I’m  hunting for bargains, weighing my options, clipping coupons! A penny saved is a penny earned, right? So, I thought I would do a Best of Etsy list with that in mind. A list of small treasures that would make thoughtful gifts or painless splurges–all without breaking the bank. A bit of affordable luxury. I’m convinced such measures will hasten the onset of spring.

The Best of Etsy:  The Affordable Luxury List

I’m really loving this Soap maker. And she does masculine scents too!! So earthy and beautiful!

I think accessories do an amazing job of making your wardrobe look fresh. Check out this new, one of kind, ring!

And speaking of money. . . here’s a fashionable hands free way of stashing yours!

As you well know, I”m on an art kick lately. And these tiny little painting are superb!

Oh, Cute Baby Alert! Someone buy this already. It’s darling and vintage and perfect!

While I love all the hoops in this store, I‘m leaning toward these for spring. There is a subtle beauty here that you can wear with other jewelry without looking over-done.

Nothing screams “SPRING” like a bunch of fresh Daffodils. And wouldn’t daffs look wonderful in this?

So, a wee bit of luxury! Just a reminder, it’s not too early to be thinking about Mother’s Day (if you’re so inclined to celebrate it!) and this list is an excellent start. If you’re looking for something special on etsy and don’t know where to start, let me know! I’m happy to point in you the right direction!

Now, let’s all collectively think “SPRING!” Those of us out here on the wintery coast of Oregon thank you in advance!

The Best of Etsy — 4 March 2008

My orchid potted in a sweet cup from Clear Mountain Craft.  It was a gift from my son for my birthday last week, and I’m in love! So is my orchid.

Wow, where has my week gone? I hope you have a better feeling for where your week went than I have for mine! I actually have another post to put up later today—but I wanted to get my The Best of Etsy list up so it’s archived. I know some people don’t follow on Twitter!  So here it is and I have to say, I love Etsy more and more each day. Oh dear, my inner Seuss is hard to quash.

I’m on a bit of a budget, so I’m looking to accessorize my existing wardrobe! This necklace seems like a good place to start!

I’m loving insects over birds for Spring. Here’s an example of WHY!

Postcards are my new favorite thing to mail. Everybody loves REAL mail, and they’re going to love you for sending one of these!

I’m such a fan of cuffs. And peacocks. And well, Dirtystory had me at their name! Check this out!

This just needs a new frame! And I’m betting your local thrift will have the perfect one for it! I think it would make a fantastic baby shower gift!

Every once in awhile, a whole concept just clicks. And this store is one of those moments. Go check it out–and find your house rule!

And finally, a twofer. Because I can’t decide… Green… or Purple.

Alrighty! That’s this week’s list. For those of you who are regular Evidently readers, I’ll be back in a few hours with a post. And hopefully, back to my usual posting schedule. It’s been just a wee bit wonky around here. Until then, happy clicking.

The Best of Etsy — 18 February 2009

Can you believe it’s already the 18th of February? Where has our year gone? And why isn’t it Spring yet? I know, such profound questions for the middle of the week.

Anyhow, here are my picks for this week. I have to tell you–I want it all. So if you buy any of it, come tell me. I’ll feel better seeing it “sold” if I know it went to YOU!!

I want to slather my home with this entire store. I’ll start with this!

Repeat after me: “I am a goddess and I will dress like one!”

My walls were talking to me yesterday and they screamed: “We’d look fabu in Krystyna!”

I’m liking the industrial edge of Spring. I have edge. Yes I do. Stop that laughing!

Oh dear! You know how I feel about deer, but this. . . this is fantastic!

Orange is THE color for Spring. And here’s a way you can wear it without looking like a pumpkin.

They had me at 3 Girls and a Goat.

That’s it for this week. You know the drill–leave me a comment and tell me what you think of the list. You can catch my list live on Twitter by following me. It airs each Wednesday at 1 PM PST. I’m around to chat about my selections and your reactions to them (and to take suggestions!)

The Best of Etsy — 11 February 2009

Hi all! It’s almost Valentine’s Day and I hope you’re feeling the love!  Here’s my list for the week. No theme this week–just 7 of my top picks.

The Best of Etsy:

Aww… I love you too! These mugs are perfect, even past the holiday!

I’ve decided this is the new it color for Spring.

And while we’re on the subject. . . This entire store is fantastic! And new, check them out.

There should be an Olympic sport: New uses for ordinary objects. This would win the Gold.

I’m ready to jet anywhere to avoid Winter weather. Wonder how much I can pack into this?

Amanda’s work has a touch of nostalgia about it. Whimsy too. This is just one I adore. There are more.

It’s not a question, to smock or not. It’s a statement. Make it!

So, tell me what you love! You can catch my live Twitter cast on Wednesdays at 1 pm (PST). Follow me here.
