Banyan at Val Verde
We woke to the news that our beloved Montecito was under siege from a wall of wind whipped fires. We are thankful to know that our friends are safe and that, for the moment, the winds have died down. I don’t have words to express our concern for those who have seen their worlds burn. Please know, we are praying for you.
This time of year in Santa Ana territory is always quite spooky.
We went through it all last year and a few years before that.
So glad to hear your friends are ok!

I hope all your loved ones are well, also. I’m in love with the heat, but not so much with the fire reality. Although, I would trade flooding and winds for the threat of fire. ~W
Scary times. Not a good time for SoCal. 🙁

No! We got book-ended with fires this year. In July and November. Outrageous! ~W
Very sad and scary. That’s such a beautiful area; it’s hard to see it suffer.

It is difficult. Although, I’m unimpressed by the news constantly pointing out that Oprah’s home might be in jeopardy. For the record, she lives on an historic estate that was “famous” long before she was born. And other people do live in the area. Ahem. 😀 ~W
I know! I hate it!

Me too!! ~W
True. While I’m thankful I’m so far away from it, I cannot help but wish I were there again to just *know* how things are going.

I hear you… I read over the list of addresses with a sinking feeling. It’s stunning, really. ~W
