76/94: Macabre

deadbird

Day Seventy-six: Photo props left in the window.

Boy Wonder: (walking past the remains of a photo shoot)  Mom! That’s not a dead bird! Is it?

Me:  Yes, it is a dead bird. I just went outside and whacked the first black bird of a specific size over the head. You know, so I could take a pretty picture. Don’t you think people will want to buy my candles more if there are recently deceased birds in the product shots?

Ok, I didn’t really say that.

Seriously? Dead bird? Where does he get this stuff? I cannot roll my eyes further into my head without risking brain injury. There is entirely too much sarcasm and not enough common sense in this house.

  • Sarcasm is good, as long as it’s mixed with some common sense. I would have said, “Hey, nice looking dead bird there–is that dinner?” hee hee

The kid was serious. He really thought it was a dead bird. Common sense is not so common around here. :D ~W

  • Jiden:

Maybe you should be complimented that your props look so real. :)

Oh sure, take the kid’s side in this, Jiden! But seriously, that child should know by now that if I was shooting photos with a dead bird it would be OUTSIDE. Never in the house, come on! ~W

  • Well, I for one am glad that you aren’t just running around whacking birds. That would be really a downer, W. :)

  • I’ve been coming and looking at this photo for the past two days and it never fails to make me laugh.

    Heh… that’s me. Dead birds and all. :D ~W

  • Brother-in-law was over to mow the grass yesterday and found a dead bird. Sad for the bird but happy he spotted it before he mowed that spot.
