Only Me and You

carrotcake1.jpg

if i told you things i did before
told you how i used to be
would you go along with someone like me

if you knew my story word for word
had all of my history
would you go along with someone like me

i did before and had my share
it didn’t lead nowhere
i would go along with someone like you
it doesn’t matter what you did
who you were hanging with
we could stick around and see this night through

carrotcake3.jpg

usually when things have gone this far
people tend to disappear
no one will surprise me unless you do

i can tell there’s something goin’ on
hours seem to disappear
everyone is leaving i’m still with you

it doesn’t matter what we do
where we are going too
we can stick around and see this night through

carrotcake4.jpg

and we don’t care about the young folks
talkin’ ’bout the young style
and we don’t care about the old folks
talkin’ ’bout the old style too
and we don’t care about our own folks,
talkin’ ’bout our own style
all we care ’bout is talking
talking only me and you

You are, without doubt, the reason I breathe. I can’t tell you that enough. And cheesy little tributes on my site hardly cover it. But baby, it’s always going to be only me and you. Always. ~W

    Wonderful words…

    sigh.

  3. Margaret Says:

The words are beautiful–yet the carrot cake makes me want to reach inside my monitor for a handful. (my favorite dessert ever!) Does that make me shallow?

Uh, no. A couple weeks ago (before I swore off refined carbs) IZ and I shared a piece of that Carrot Cake, and I was only going to eat a bite. I horked down half of his cake before he could stop me. Poor guy. This time, I sipped my mocha (the only sugar I’m getting except for a weekly incentive) and didn’t even take ONE bite. I wanted to. But I was afraid if I did, I’d lose all my resolve. I’m seriously thinking that while I didn’t test positive for insulin resistance on the blood test, the RIGHT tests weren’t done to be sure. So, I’m attempting to live like a diabetic and see if that doesn’t help with some of my symptoms.

Anyhow, I’d send you a piece if I thought it would get to you, Margaret. Because it is, hands down, the very best Carrot Cake I’ve ever had in my life. SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOD. Totally worth the trip to this two star town, just to eat a piece. :D ~W

Me too! I’m seriously not tired of it yet. And considering my penchant for listening to music over and over and over and then tossing it aside, that’s saying something. I think it’s the whistling. Do you whistle along like I do?? :D ~W

  5. kalurah Says:

Oy! I CAN’T whistle! It just kills me. My hubbie can whistle and so can my 6 yr old. NO FAIR. :)
