So, is he wanting that pre-teen independence and separation? Those are hard times, my friend. What I'm facing with senior daughter feels like that too--and I'm not liking it much. However, she is back to the way she was before fall, and that I like.

This is just it, Margaret, it's not pre-teen. He's always been independent, wanting to GO! When he was tiny and I drop him off at the nursery at church, he'd shoo me off. Flick his hand like, "go away". Heh. But now, he's got age and transportation on his side and we just don't see that much of him. It's not a bad thing... we see him enough due to school... but he's moving on, quickly. But, I'm also going to limit his exposure do to some local blog nastiness that has (or so I've been told, I won't read it!) includes G. ~W

The emperor of the world sure is good looking. You could go to college with your kid, but you may have to do homework if that happens. Are you really sure about that??

Oh my. As if I needed ANOTHER good cry, Wende!
We had Zoe's school conf. this morning and let's just say, I failed miserably at maintaining ANY amount of composure.
I'll fill you in on my blog, later.
Thanks, by the way, for the heads up about the Storque article. I had no idea! :)

Having been the parent at dozens of parent/teacher conferences that did not end well, I was worried. However, despite your tears, that's a FABULOUS outcome!! No worries about the tears. I had a seminary friend who said at moments like this, it is the Grace of God filling us up... and it has to come out someway. So the Holy Spirit eeks out of our tear ducts. See, you're FINE. You encountered grace and responded (appropriately, I think!!). ~W

I feel like I never see jacob much anymore. He has his own agenda and the capacity to act on it. So off he goes.

I think the only thing that prevents that here, is that we homeschool... so we do see him in the day. Otherwise, the minute he can, he's gone. The only thing that keeps him home is the weather. As much as I'm missing the sun around here, it's safe to say we won't be seeing much of BW when it arrives. ~W

what a sappy post!! :) in the good way, though. *giggle*

my boyfriend just turned 33 yesterday, and it's so sweet to watch his mom look at him the same way she looked at him 3 decades ago. he'll always be her little baby, no matter how big he gets.

as i assume the future Emperor of the World won't forget you, from his high ...throne? is that what they have? :P
