I ended up putting this bunch on my bedside table and waking up to that smell. Lovely. ~W

  • Beautiful color! I’m loving all the flowering cherry and dogwood trees. They are spectacular.

  • I’ve seen that those grow here, too! The little spot of color makes it feel like home. :)

I was surprised to see them thriving here on the coast–considering our rain! ~W

  • Hmmmm. My lilacs just don’t do anything — neither do my jasmine. Not sure why. I am planning to tear them out and put in something that likes my yard and does nice things like bloom and smell pretty! :) I can enjoy the spring lilacs of other people!

Did you plant the lilacs? How long ago… I think it can take time for them to establish? I’m not really sure about that, it just seems like a familiar tale. The jasmine is confusing! It should grow beautifully where you are, right?? ~W

  • So lovely. I grew up with lilacs and they were my favorite flower…. sadly, they don’t grow in Florida, but gazing at your photos, I can almost smell them.

Yeah, it probably doesn’t get cold enough there, does it? Bummer!! But I bet jasmine grows like a weed. ~W

  • I had to do it. I could not put it off any longer. I bought my first lilac bush today. However, I will have to wait till next year to enjoy the blooms.

    Beautiful photos Wende!

Lilacs are my favorite flower. (well, next to peonies) I can not wait for ours to pop! Yours are just beautiful.

I’m partial to both, but the smell of lilacs… LOVE THAT. :D ~W

  • IZ:

Those are some lovely pics. Lilacs are beautiful. Thanks for the up-close photos… they are kind of a blur to me when I’m in the garden… the detail is amazing.

You’re so welcome! Our room smells amazing in the morning. :D And it appears you fixed my spam problem. THANK YOU!!~W

  • Holy Smokes. Those are GORGEOUS. Spring is still trying to start here. I think the long, cold, extra snow covered winter really did a number on the plants. I just wish it would have killed off the dandelions. Oh well, they are good bunny food! :)

Yeah, it killed off a ton of my plants. My peonies are GONE. Spring has been slow to arrive. ~W

Hello ~ Welcome to Evidently

Your comments are like sunshine on a grey day. And do you know how much cloud cover there is here on the Coast of Oregon? A ton... so keep the sunshine coming!
