Someone once said that you can take the man out of the South, but you can’t take the South out of the man. William Faulkner, maybe?
The same can be said of California. I miss my two star state.
Happy Friday, dear readers. I hope wherever you find yourself today, it’s exactly where you want to be.
Darlin’ – is there a reason that you all can’t move back?

Oh, how I feel your pain. But I think you already knew that. 🙂

I do!! ~W
I’m so sorry that you are feeling so alienated! I’ve been lucky enough to love where I live and I’ve had good friends who didn’t — it is painful. Thinking of you.

It’s more a case of the weather, here. I’m ready for it to be Spring. ~W
Girl, you know I’m feeling your pain. I YEARN, with all of my being, to be out west again. I CANNOT wait to get back out there. I’m sorry you can’t be in the state you wanna be, but I’m glad you have your boys with you. Family makes like happy.
🙂

I am no unhappy. I am COLD. BRRR… This winter took all the glamor (such as it was) out of living here. I’m done with raging winds and contractors who never return phone calls. ~W
If you wish upon a star . . .

You too…I’m ascared about where I’m at in my life right now (well…it’s more what’s been happening…) it’s um, um…good fodder for a blog post? 🙂

Oh, I hope you blog. 😀 I eagerly await your post. ~W
I feel your pain, lady. Just when I thought I was getting into the Oregon groove, major I-miss-NYC pangs hit me, out of nowhere.
I have to say, I love your response to Cindy above… “the glamor of living here.” What was that, again?
Be well, and have a good weekend with your lovely family – home is wherever they are, right?

Yeah, I have NO idea. The winter wiped my memory clear. 😀 ~W
I’ve been in Bellingham, visiting Western with my two best girls –Ashley and Alison. YOunger Daughter loved it there, and we all had a marvelous time. However, in spite of the blue sky, it was a bit cold and windy. Such is the Pac NW. It isn’t one of its charms, but is certainly lovely, in a harsh way.

It’s starkly beautiful there… I think it’s all that open sea. ~W
I’d offer to trade our house for yours in Astoria, but then you might find yourself worse off…weatherwise.
I like it mighty fine up here in the PNW and I dread the retirement conversation with my husband when he argues hard that he wants to move to Southern California with it’s hot dry weather and lack of seasons…not to mention its pushy crowded culture.
It’s a good thing there is a place for everyone.

Yeah, and my place is Santa Barbara. Just sayin’. 😀 ~W
