I'm not sure if you are simply an amazing writer, or the story is really that magical... maybe a little bit of both. BW is so lucky to have such a beautiful narrative of his life.

Oh, thank you, Marie. As you might guess, I'm a big believer in Narrative Theology (which has some relation to the kind of family system work you do!), so I'm always thinking in terms of that. I hope he will grow up someday and like what he reads. ~W

What a sweet and sad post, Wende. Very good writing! I think this probably brings back memories for a lot of us of childhood friends lost.
You're last two posts are so bittersweet. Yes, BW is growing up and Yes, it happens way to fast. Take it from a mom who can't figure out where her little people went...

Much can happen later on; life is really quite unpredictable. I am also sad that my girls are drifting away from their grade school, junior high, high school friends. It's hard to watch, but very normal. It doesn't mean we have to like it!

Yeah, it is. And I have these silly little fantasies that they will find each other in grad school. No, I'm not planning my kid's life... NOT ME!! ~W

My 11yr old daughter had a boy/friend like that from Kindergarten through third grade. They were in the same class at school, and we lived right across the street from each other. They were incredible together - completely the same "speed," and they even looked alike! (right down to their wire-rimmed glasses!) He'd invite her to his birthday party, only for her to find out that she was the only one invited (wink, wink). They went to amusements parks together and miniature golfing. It was crazy how in-sync they were, and how they never tired of being in each other's company. They drifted apart after he moved, but she stills talks about him from time to time. None of my other kids have had relationships like that, but it was very interesting to observe with my 11yr old.

You know, some kids are just intense. It's nice to know he's not the only one with those experiences. And I guess I didn't realize that we had children nearly the same age! :D ~W

I remember Chloe and Georges at sumer school, they looked like the kind of friends who had lots in common. Friends like that never really fade away.
