Why Yes, Yes You Do

ladedog.jpg

This weather is glorious! I had a chance to get out in it yesterday and found myself wandering into LaDeDog… oh. my. Heaven.

Yes, yes, I have serious problems. For starters, I adore a dog who barely tolerates me. But I can’t help it… she’s my supermodel dog. She’s BE-YOO-T-FULL! And she knows it.

Anyone living in Astoria knows that Couture can be hard to come by—so, hard, it requires a trip into the big city. But if you’re a pooch, you’re in luck! LaDeDog can set you up in style without sending your owner’s pocket-book into shock. That’s what the vet bill is for after all!!

Do I look like the kind of girl who would dress up my badger-hunting terrier in darling pea-coats?

(I swear, her tail wags every time she sees me coming with the coat. Yes, it’s bribery, but I think we’ve established that I have issues.)

Tres bon! Si magnifique. J’adore le sophie dans cette veste blanche.

She does look smashing, doesn’t she? She needs a doggie beret. Hmmm…. ~W

  2. Margaret Says:

Magnifique, ta chienne! How come Sophie has a nicer pea coat than I do??

Sophie has an insane owner. ~W

What a clever name for a dog shop! That pea coat is a hoot! Stylin’!

    I know, I couldn’t resist! And it is a great store… they’ve thought of everything. ~W

  4. Megan Says:

She is, quite possibly, the most adorable thing I have ever seen. Would she tolerate doggie boots? That would just throw the whole thing over the top for me. Do they even make doggie boots? We have cats at my house and I’d hate to see what would happen if I went near them with a coat…

They do!! The store had doggie cowboy boots, but alas, they were too small for Sophie. I doubt she’d approve, though… she’s kinda funny about her feet. She doesn’t like them touched or messed with.  But I’m thinking she could use a hat! ~W

  5. Miz S Says:

She looks smashing! You are nutty. But in a good way.

I know! I think IZ wanted a larger dog just to keep me from doing this sort of thing. I don’t think he counted on the fact I would do it anyhow… Poor dog. :D Seriously, tho… I did resist. At least I got a respectable coat… there was this leopard print thing with fake fur trim. And cowboy boots!!!! :D ~W

  6. bonnie Says:

How much is that doggie in the window?
The one with the darling pea coat?
I don’t think the owner has issues,
But loves Sophie so, she must gloat.

A store named Latte Dog might cover all of your bases. You wanted to open yet another home business, oui?

Heh… you could be onto something there, Bonnie! :D ~W

Oh my, oh my, oh my! Isn’t Sophie just something. What a little diva darling!

Oh, diva she is! Good grief, that dog really has issues with other terriers!! Sad, sad, really. :D ~W

I must admit, I’m generally not a fan of doggie sweater-type-things. But this pea coat is smashing. Smashing!

I just swooned! I only wish it had been in navy, because I’m a practical girl with a black and tan dog. :D ~W

Utterly to die for . . . she is the bomb! I’m on my way to LaDeDog as we speak. My little thing coated rattie is shivering already and it’s barely into fall now. She NEEDS a warm something but it must be fabulous! :) Thanks!

Oh, Renee the owner is really nice. I don’t think  they’re selling online yet. But they can ship to you, if you see something you like. But let me know if you need any help. ~W

Normally, that whole “dress my dog up” thing looks cheesy, but this actually looks nice, and she looks happy! She must know she looks good!

Well, I suspect this is still cheesy… but, yeah, didn’t really stop me, did it. I think I might be a bit cheesy myself. ;) ~W

  11. Kathleen Says:

    Aww…. so cute, she’s even smiling! :)

That photo of her smiling cracks me up! ~W

  12. sadira Says:

She looks too cute! I NEVER look that cute in a white coat…harumph!

LOL… White is hard. I have a white mohair vintage piece that I insist on wearing… despite the fact I look like abominable snowman in it. ~W

  13. Renee Says:

Thank you for your kind words, Wende. Sophie does look smashing in her new couture ~ wouldn’t she make a beautiful model for LaDeDog! :)

You’re most welcome! I adore your store. And she’d love to model for you–but she’s a drug addict and not that dependable. Heh. ~W

that dog is beyond words cute. I really wanted to get a puppy but the cats are too set in their ways and I preffer the badger hunting varieties.. It was a bad combo.
Now maybe I can get a badger hunting dog for my 60th birthday.
    something to look forward to!

You are so wise. The only reason it works with our cat and Sophie is that our cat is very, very affectionate to everyone and thing. She sorta won the dog over. And Sophie, for her part, is submissive–it didn’t take much to teach her that she isn’t top dog in the house. That being said, these dogs typically do not do well with other animals… and I would imagine most cats wouldn’t enjoy it either! ~W
