[...] We spent the better part of an hour waiting our turn to see the vet. Sophie did her her part and looked intimidating. Looking fierce is a a supermodel thing. Like most Terriers, Sophie has never met a fight she wouldn’t start—so, it was no surprise when with just one look she sent a sweet Doberman named Riley scurrying behind her owner’s legs. Riley spent the whole time with her nose buried in her owner’s lap, casting spurious glances our direction until Sophie was called into the exam room. Evidently, Ms. Thing has an infected toe due to all the gnawing she does. Not only is my dog an addict, she has a few anxiety issues to boot! Add that to her poor social skills and you begin to see why our dog has more in common with Naomi Campbell than the average canine. We won’t even discuss her obsession with haute couture. [...]

It's excellent! Pay no mind to any nay-sayers. I once made a dog coat out of an old sweater. It was a hassle - I see now that I should have felted the sweater first. Cool.

Well, I'm going to rip it open and put in one last strap at the back so it doesn't flop around so much. :) But, thank you! :) ~W

That is such a cute picture! You are inspiring. My dog needs one--she has a skin condition, and I have her shaved down to keep the hair problem under control in the apartment. She is not an attractive sight at the moment, and I'm sure she misses her hair when it is thirty degrees outside. I would just have no clue whatsoever to do...I think it is a mystery how you managed to use a sweater without it unraveling. My sewing machine rebelled violently when I tried to use a piece of an old sweater in something...I think it cursed at me.

Michelle, you need to use only 100% wool sweaters. Then you wash that sweater in a washing machine several times until it stops shrinking. It takes on the texture of wool felt and is easier to sew. ~W

Heh... I think it will be OK once I add that other strap. However, that's work and I hear that I have papers to write. :) ~W

Sophie the SuperDog with her J Crew Utility Cape.

Thanks for the giggle, this really cheered me up. Okay, back to the homework. I'm halfway through the first project, so I was celebrating and taking a much needed break.

Good luck with the papers, Cap. I just found out from my adviser she wants a paper early, so I'm going to be chained to my computer all weekend. Hope you get it all done with ease. :) ~W
