I wanted to post this yesterday but by the time I got home the light had all but faded. This morning isn’t much better… so the following photos are terribly over-exposed.
Yesterday brought a bounty of good things my way. I was the happy recipient of honey from Guy… Sadly, the photo doesn’t capture how truly beautiful this honey is! Those of you who know me, understand how deeply I love honey and this was such a thoughtful gift! Thank you, and it was fun to have meet you!
And you know it’s always a good day when you score a few Thrift finds. I found these vintage (and not so vintage, but sweet just the same) Santas for 75% off and there is only one word better than that: FREE!
Little guy with the pointy head made taking this picture very difficult. Bad Santa! Anyhow, among the lot was a vintage stocking from the 50’s that has my brother’s name and the best little snowman on it. How blessed is that? Needless to say, it will remain unseen until next year when I’ll fill it with goodies.. but maybe not with Smittens, eh?
Speaking of free. . . there is nothing better than coming home to those you love on a very cold day. Their love is terribly free and immeasurably priceless.
What cool treasures! A gift, a find, and pure love.

Ooh! Go you! I’m a complete addict. I’ve got a migraine and yet I’m still considering driving out to a store that is only open 3 days a week. We don’t need to eat, right? 😀 ~W
Haven’t done the thrift stores yet this month but I do have to stop by JoAnn tonight and you know they’re gonna have something 75% off!
Those are lovely treasures–especially the human variety!

I’m particularly fond of the human variety in the bottom photo! ~W
It is local honey, I really like supporting local agriculture. It was a pleasure meeting you and Mom of Three. Too bad others who were invited didn’t make it. I feel like I have a better understanding of what makes my two favorite local writers tick.
Difficult to support local agriculture when you don’t even know where it comes from. Oh well, I’ll get my next round at Costco…

Pffft… Kat! You can always keep buying honey at the farmer’s market. Hey… I miss you in the blogosphere…when you gonna start up a new blog? OR are you blogging on the sly and haven’t told me?? 😀 ~W
Your BOYS are very handsome. I like Boy Wonder’s haircut! And just a note…I LOVE that yellow wall behind your guys. 🙂
Kat, there are a lot of local things to buy, but timing is the problem. If you have a freezer and also some friends with them also, you can buy a years worth of meat at the auction at the end of the county fair. Beef, sheep, goat, swine, and some poultry. The animals are raised by local kids who really care for their animals. Next there are a lot of people selling local eggs. Any Tillamook brand items are generally local. The honey that I gave Wende came from a neighbor who produces raw, chemical free honey. He mostly sells it himself, but I’ve seen some in a couple shops in Astoria. I can share contact information with you if you want some.
