IZ: So, for Christmas, I was thinking I would give you my undying love.
He’s sweet, isn’t he? Makes you want to hurt him.
Me: What? I already have that, you don’t get to re-gift!
IZ: Well, what are you giving me this year?
Me: I have no earthly idea.
IZ: What? No Lexus with a big red bow in the driveway?
Yeah, you see where this conversation was headed? He’s not so sweet now, is he?
Me: Tell you what I’ll do—I can put a big red bow on your Pacifica.
IZ: What happened to no re-gifting?

In the world of Old Testament studies, we call this a case of comparative evil. See, in a few days, he’s going to pitch getting the new Wii and when I give him that look, he’s going to point out that in comparison to a new Lexus, the Wii is a bargain. And I’m going to laugh. In his face.
I’m so getting coal for Christmas.
laughing… that’s too cute.. I’m gonna get coal too 🙂

It’s a game console thingamagingy. :) ~W
The Wii (pronounced “We” or “Wheee”) is the newest gaming console from Nintendo. As opposed to Sony and Microsoft who have positioned their consoles to offer up more realistic experiences in watching people and things die, Nintendo has focused on trying to build a game experience “for the rest of us”. The idea for Nintendo was to create a machine that EVERYONE could play and one that was physically immersive. The Wii’s controllers are nothing short of revolutionary and really get you off the couch. Nintendo also focuses on less violent games. Sure there are violent games out there – but “first person shooters” are the hallmark of Microsoft’s xBox 360 and Sony. So, where Sony and Microsoft have gone the route of enhancing visual gore, Nintendo has focused on enhancing experience and broadening audience. I hope they are successful… now returning the blog to Wende… Oh and if you are still interested in learning and seeing more, visit Wii.

Kat, we could go in on the coal (and shipping) together. 🙂
Coal is a fabulous gift … it says “you’re a scrooge” and yet, it’s practical as well lol

I have to concur with IZ, I have both a xbox 360, PS2 and now the Wii and I tell you that my other half, whom normally hates video games, has been having a blast with my Wii !!!!

I was in therapy, but the therapist wanted me to pay her for her time. The audacity!
Anyway, how’d you know I have issues??? 😉

IZ–Thank you. As a teacher, I am well aware of the pull of these violent video games, and I abhor them. I am glad that Nintendo is staying out of it! My girls are not much into games, but did play Mario a lot on our Super Nintendo and then our 64.
